From what I understand "Boer" is the term that describes the original Dutch settlers, they are their own ethnic group, a mix of Dutch, german, and a small bit of Spanish

You might be confusing it with the Australian term of "Bogan" (see pic related)

Boer means farmer in Dutch.

most white south africans are racist. most of them do live in gated communities with giant houses and gardens, usually with over 4 bedrooms. living here is not that bad tho, food and services are quite cheap
