The other was an inexpensive private catholic high schoof or rich people's kids who were rather bad at school. That high school focused on helping student to develop their full potential or whatever that means. It was officially catholic but I witnessed the most depraved shits when I studied there from orgies with drugs to a student having an affair with a teacher and nobody batting an eye (it was in 2001 I'm a rather old anon). The former school was for nerds and the later for the cool kids, all from a rather bourgeois background. High school was fun, as long as you live in a decent neighbourhood and don't go to ghetto schools, high school is extremely fun in France.

My school was so rich, every year we would have a music festival and hire foreign bands. One time the school hired Ivete Sangalo (famous brazilian singer), it probably cost them half a million dollars for that.

Private schools indeed cost money but "elite" public ones are free. We have what we call "carte scolaire" (sorry there's no proper English translation for that): people from poor neighbourhoods go to shit schools and rich or upper middle classes go to good ones but hopefully good pupils can go to the best free public schools if they have good grades.

Here is the HS where I live now to give you a better idea about the size. It is as huge as a college campus (well a small campus).
If you are lucky and come early, you can park near the school building. Or you would have to park near the football stadium and it is a like a 10 min walk from there.

Swear it was Westwood? I just remember Westlake being the standard rich school along with Lake Travis.
Not to mention Westlake was mainly good because it was rich, while Westwood was in a bog standard area yet got private school tier grades. Not that I'm bragging or anything, I hated the place, the worst period of my life was spent there.
Only memory I have of Westlake was going there for an American football game, thinking it was fucking crazy how they had their own stadium and it was nicer than our district's community stadium, and then seeing sports cars like Mustangs, Camaros, BMWs, etc parked in the student parking area. Was really weird to see.

westlake and westwood are both very competitive academically and are pretty comparable in that sense. it's true that westwood is interesting in that it serves some of the most average, affordable suburbs in austin, but there's a few things at play there. northwest austin is dominated by the tech sector, so the affordability and proximity attracts educated immigrants and other techies. westwood is also the only school in the round rock ISD to have the IB program, so smart kids from all over the district end up going there.
