>I've never once saved the council in ME1 for example and I don't see why thats such a bad thing.
It's not so much that it's a moral decision in terms of who you save qua saving, it's a decision that has political/diplomatic/military consequences that represent two approaches to putting humans on top.
If you let the council die, you are throwing the other species' political leadership into disarray and letting them sacrifice a great portion of their strength. If you put the humans in harms way to save them, you take a small bit of losses, but you get humanity a lot of respect and prominence within the political system that the other species are entrenched in. Both have their Machiavellian advantages, but it isn't a "paragon" thing to do to sit back while your allies are killed.

I was born in Belfast in the late '80s. My da got out of jail, married my mom, made babies. We were grinnin' eatin' Ulster fries and big titties, steak and kidney pies, and glazed gravy. I was a praised baby, but say I'm not—I haven't been praised lately; you know why? Cause,
I WAS BORN IN BELFAST.
HEAR THE SHOTGUN-SHELL BLAST.
AND YOUR SOUL'S GOIN' TO HELL FAST.

Fuck surveillance—to hell with the mask!
Fuck commercial I don't sell to the mass.

It really does.
Women aren't made to fuck other women. It suggests you're insecure or uncomfortable with heterosexuality, or so disconnected from it/women as to think that it's something "good".
Look at women who have a paraphilia for male homosexuality. That's what lesbian fetishising "straight males" are.

It's perceived worse, because people bought into the whole idea of gay acceptance because they were told they couldn't control it and that it wasn't a choice, they were born with it. The idea of mixing and matching undermines that convenient lie.
Gayness is an abstraction that even normie people don't want to intrude into the world of heterosexuality through "bisexuals" bringing gay modes of sexual thought (ie: insanity) into heterosexual "culture".

>>72723917
>you will never be a self-hating woman with severe daddy/molestation issues who's gotten sick of being a cumrag and so takes out her feelings by playing house with a cookie cutter version of herself
>you will never lack the genitalia or hormonal structure that leads you to want to fuck women
The idea that physical processes within the brain, particularly sexual attraction, are outside or beyond the influence of the body, is one of the most damaging ideas people hold for the sake of convenience.

>But can bisexuals not claim that they too were "born that way"?
It might work on the gullible, but it simply isn't true in anything but a trivial sense that isn't acceptable for any other mental illness. Sexual mental illnesses are the only type of illness in which the afflicted are encouraged not just to "cooperate" with the mental illness, but to define their lives around it.

Normies with no facts beyond what the media tells them, and no experience of and more often than not no ability to think outside the box, will say "okay maybe this guy's wires were flipped the wrong way when he was a clump of cells" when someone is repulsed by the proper sex but desires the same sex, and write it off as just a disease which deserves sympathy (since that's how the original propaganda presented it).
An analogy is how people will understand a rain-man tier autist flipping out in weird circumstances, but someone with aspergers is expected to function since they're capable of it. People see through the "I was born that way" argument for bisexuality because the person is capable of the objectively correct orientation but still engages in the disgusting act of sodomy on a discretionary basis. In a similar way, people see it the same as infidelity. They know that healthy heterosexual people are regularly tempted by infidelity, but they know that they are failing to observe mores and morals by engaging in it, and to say "but it's natural" is a rejection of their higher reasoning and a statement that they're basically an animal. So it goes with "bisexuality". They know that the person is physically capable of functioning normally, but chooses not to.

The other big problem, of course, is that the """debate""" (ie: the propaganda that is allowed to appear in public) regarding perversion deliberately whitewashes the nature of human agency, and conflates the issue of feeling homosexual feelings with the engagement of homosexual acts.
So, rhetorically, and in the minds of lunatics and slow/uninformed people, to be afflicted by the feelings of homosexual attraction (or trannyism or whatever the fuck) is the same thing as to engage in the acts the illness inclines them towards.
They also ignore or outright dismiss the fact that human choice is NOT ultimately decided by hormones inclining the brain the wrong way such that no reasonable choice-making is left in the equation, except in the case of retards and (recognised) lunatics, which they are lumping homosexual behaviour in with by saying so.
If that is true anyway, and the "choices" of homosexually-inclined people are not actually "choices" at all, then it doesn't even fit into this "let people make their own choices" shtick which liberalism/libertarianism inconsistently applies. Of course that opens up another debate on free will, but really it's the same debate, just not one engaged in honestly.

Do you have any insights/interesting anecdotes about this? How generally would you say the problem applies? I wonder whether it's the result of active social conditioning, laxity of (real) education allowing standards to slip, or the way the average person has been for all of history in the face of all attempts to improve them. It'd be a lot more simple if it was the first of those.

I don't see your point. And even though older societies would have cruder theories to explain it, like possession or bad "humours", they still recognised when people had different mental patterns than the norm.

I've never been able to reconcile myself with the death penalty. It's not that I'm a pacifist, "everybody deserves a second chance" type. It's just that normalised state-sanctioned execution as part of our judicial system makes me really uncomfortable. Extra-judicial killings in special cases actually make me feel less uncomfortable (e.g. sending special forces to kill a terrorist). I guess it's just I don't like the idea of the state having a legal, procedural way of killing its citizens. And this is coming from somebody who likes the idea of a strong state.

I usually refrain from discussing the death penalty because I just end up more and more confused about my own standpoint on this issue.
>>
>>72742505
Why not?

Executing them with a single bullet instead of exiling them for years while feeding them periodically and monitoring them ends up saving money at the end of the day.

It's not like people who are apprehended for severe crimes will ever have a normal life to go back to.

>Executing them with a single bullet instead of exiling them for years while feeding them periodically and monitoring them ends up saving money at the end of the day.
In the US it costs far more to execute a prisoner than lock them up for life, mainly due to the fact that a comprehensive appeals process has to be afforded to the prisoner (which makes sense to be fair). So even from a pragmatic, economic standpoint, the death penalty doesn't make sense.
>>
>>72742693
That's because the US love making money. A simple bullet to the head doesn't cost much. You should get two appeals but after that, pop goes the weasel.

The execution cost is minuscule, regardless of how it's done. You can't skimp on the appeals process because that would breach the legal rights of the prisoner (even in the lenient USA).

And this is all before the fact that you can't be a member of the EU if you have the death penalty.
>>

And what happens in the cases where the person is found to be innocent after they're executed?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrongful_execution
Ireland
Harry Gleeson was executed in Ireland in April 1941 for the Murder of Moll McCarthy in County Tipperary in November 1940. The Gardai withheld crucial evidence and fabricated other evidence against Gleeson. In 2015 he was posthumously pardoned.
Timothy Evans was tried and executed in March 1950 for the murder of his wife and infant daughter. An official inquiry conducted 16 years later determined that it was Evans's fellow tenant, serial killer John Reginald Halliday Christie, who was responsible for the murder. Christie also admitted to the murder of Evans's wife, as well as five other women and his own wife. Christie may have murdered other women, judging by evidence found in his possession at the time of his arrest, but it was never pursued by the police. Evans was posthumously pardoned in 1966. The case had prompted the abolition of capital punishment in the UK in 1965.
George Kelly was executed in March 1950 for the 1949 murder of the manager of the Cameo Cinema in Liverpool, UK and his assistant during a robbery that went wrong. This case became known as the Cameo Murder. Kelly's conviction was overturned in 2003. Another man, Donald Johnson, had confessed to the crime but the police bungled Johnson's case and had not divulged his confession at Kelly's trial.[16]
Mahmood Hussein Mattan was executed in 1952 for the murder of Lily Volpert. In 1998 the Court of Appeal decided that the original case was, in the words of Lord Justice Rose, "demonstrably flawed". The family were awarded £725,000 compensation, to be shared equally among Mattan's wife and three children. The compensation was the first award to a family for a person wrongfully hanged.

I support the death penalty but only voluntarily. If someone wants to spend the next 60 years in prison then let them, but I feel it would be cheaper and easier for everyone if they just died. I can't imagine anyone wanting to sit in a cell for their entire life. Also stops the the government going draconian and killing people whenever they want.

Though we'd need to legalise euthanasia first so we don't get suicide by cop killings.

That's my other problem with the death penalty. Convictions are based on "beyond reasonable doubt", not 100% certainty. I'd be appalled if the state was to kill an person who later turned out to be innocent. Being falsely imprisoned is bad enough, but being killed for doing nothing is very disturbing.

It should be only for crimes that would normally have the death penalty. But then again if euthanasia is legal then they should be able to apply for it no matter what they did or didn't do, which would stop people murdering just to die. Now that I think about it this is really just legalised euthanasia with prisoners given access.

It's like how sex offenders have the option to get chemically castrated and get out of prison.

>If euthanasia is legal normally then they go through the channels to have it done without needing to commit a crime.
Eh, I wouldn't be so sure. If we look to the Swiss model as an example, there is a lengthy procedure you have to go through to actually get to the point where they will assist in euthanisation - this would be offputting for a lot of people with mental illnesses. Also, ultimately, the responsibility for killing yourself in those clinics lies with you or a relative, which would deter suicidal people who want to die but can't bring themselves to do it personally.

Regardless, I could never see euthanisation being made fully legal in Ireland.

Some of them do cheat.

It's because they can't rather than a lack of want.

The lads can't cheat, the women would cheat given a chance.

Exactly. Having known some autistic couples in over the years, the guys are always obsessively devoted to the girls whereas the girls will jump ship when they spot an "upgrade" that will have them.

I know that this sounds like an awful generalisation, but it has been true in about 90% of cases I've seen.
>>
>>72749632
Autistic girls are frigid unless they meet their personal 10/10. They won't settle for anything less.

To be fair, that depends heavily on where they are on the scale of autism. some seriously autistic lads can be spotted (or smelled) a mile away.

True, but there is always the odd sneaky one that flies under the radar.
