Twenty or thirty years ago gas stations had self serve and full service pumps. An employee would come out and fuel your car wash your windows etc. I don't see any full service pumps at gas stations anymore. I'm assuming these are a minority of blue states which wont let you pump gas. You use to be able to buy freon for air conditioners until some faggot at the EPA decided ordinary citizens weren't to be trusted with it.

The purpose was to create minimum wage jobs, the trade off is that gasoline is one of the few commodity's that isn't heavily taxed in the state

literally not true in 90% of the country. but it seems perfectly reasonable to not allow it, I've often gone and filled up my lawnmower, water bottles, glass bottles to use for molotov cocktails etc. imagine rolling up the pump, paying with a stolen card, and then just tying the release valve so that gasoline flows endlessly in to the parking lot. there's nothing to stop anyone from doing that.
