Was thinking that, most of their shows are imports, and seeing as ITV is a sister channel and a lot of the imports are from them that would make their content even easier to bring over, their own shows probably don't have a high budget either, shit like Gogglebox Ireland can't have high production values, and their staff get paid much less than RTE. They have three channels here with TV3, 3e and UTV Ireland, the latter two I think are mostly just for dumping imported programs into the Irish market, so they probably make a decent enough profit off it by putting very little into the channel, I'd say TG4 have higher production costs with a smaller market share.
