I wonder how can people in Iceland be happy. I live in a city of about the same population of Iceland. I'm tired of alway seeing the same people. Always spotting the same girls when I go out. Always walking for the same streets.
But in their case is much worse, because for example last weekend I went to Madrid with my friends for a concert, and the weekend before I went to Valencia for chickpicking. But Icelanders can't do shit. They are in the middle of nowhere, and a tiny population with, I guess, few entertainment offer, a shitty climate and with everything expensive from food to travelling.

Our beaches are fairly cold and violent, Algarve aside. Alentejo is also neat, but not to be touched or exploited. Same as the Azores. Most of the coast line (islands included) is either pic related or very serene NZ-green-type. Either way, they're not really party-beaches, for the most part.

But memes aside, we are quite stoic and sardonic folk, which definitely shows in out culture, and is very evident in contrast with Spain. Our fairly monotone and closed-sounding language also helps set the mood. Being rich wouldn't fix it, as I know people who went abroad and did fairly well, but they are usually fairly quiet and autistic as the rest of us.

This isn't to say we're better or worse, just that we're different, I guess.

Not really. We're not anti-social like them, and from what I've gathered we're fairly open and nice to visitors that show interest. And we hang out on bars and pubs and whatnot, it's just that we never get too giddy or excited for things. We're fairly sardonic and cynic towards stuff.

Plus, Finland seems to be very happy, so they are just pretending. I think it may be related to the fact that they are introverts that get to stay at home because the state pays for it, whereas we're introverts that are forced to go out and actually talk to people because the weather is nice and the houses are cold.

We're similar to the stereotypical wingy Brit, but instead of the weather we complain about the economy or new annoying stuff du jour. We do that thing of greeting people with an "allright?" and it's standard to answer with a "more or less" when asked how we're doing.

Maybe we're just weird.
