If you're fluent in english, no problems in all big cities or tourist towns.
If you're fluent in german it can help on all the northern countryside.
If you're fluent in italian it can help on the small slovene coast.
You'll need basic slovene in the countryside though, and they won't even speak the same slovene as they do 50 kms away.
I miss slovenia-senpai.

Everytime I went in a turist city in Italy I had the impression to be fucking robbed.
The shop owners reated me as if I were a fucking walking wallet. No price were displayed anywhere.
Everytime I went to any town or big city in Slovenia (big city = Ljubljana or Maribor, no need to disgress here), I did not felt that way and I was not treated diffrently from a native.
No special menu with thrice the price for me. Every shop owner was courteous and tried to help.
