I think your underestimate how much pressure they put on you. I've known people who have even married the "moderate" SEA muslims, and their family takes over your life.

Once you marry one of their women, you become part of their family and there's no escape from it but divorce. They want your children to be mujslim and will expect to see you at the Mosque as well.
