ITT: stereotypes about your country that are actually true and piss you off
>clapping
People clap at everything. I know several public speakers who say they have to constantly talk because if they stop even just to take a breath the crowd will start applauding and waste time.
It's even more obnoxious when your watching stuff with Congress or the President and the crowd starts applauding after literally every sentence.
>be American
>land
>clap
>watch credits
>clap
>go to school
>get clapped
>starting conversations with strangers
NORMIES FUCK OFF JUST BECAUSE I HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT HOW TO TELEPORT YET DOESN'T MEAN I WANT TO BE NEAR YOU
If someone's mum/gran offers you a cup of tea, there is no point in saying 'no thanks', she will pour it down you whether you want it or not
>we have bad teeth
Sadly this is very true. I have never met anybody who has a white smile or does not have at least one missing tooth. Dentists here are heavily subsided by the government because barely anybody visits them. Whenever I go to my dentist she's always really excited to see me because I'm one of her only patients.

The whole fat, ignorant stereotype is too accurate for comfort. I'm not surprised foreigners think the average American is a 400 pound retard with no self awareness.
>beer
All my friends started drinking with only 15. And every time they ask me if I want some, I have to remind them that I donĀ“t want it.
>act like poor gypsies even when we have money
>tacky and have bad taste in general
>loudmouthed and rude
>racist even though we're half everything
>always with a jesus cross even when don't even practice the religion
>timid and spergy around women even though bragging about getting with women is common
>terrible with costumers, terrible with sales, terrible with computers
All true. Not as common as one might think, though.

This is a newer generation thing.
>with dad at indian buffet near me
>table next to us has daughter (like 2 or 3 years old)
>dad smiles and starts to talking to her
>tells father he has a beautiful daughter
>keeps looking at her continually until the father brings her back
I couldn't help but think it was incredibly autistic or creepy.
Last time I talked to a stranger was asking someone what the price of coffee was at a convenience store and it was only because they didn't list them.
They actually take siestas in the South.
