What you fail to grasp is that if America were to take such military action against China in a declaration of war, it wouldn't be just China the Clapistani military would be facing.

I understand that for the majority of the world it's difficult to grasp how much military might we have, but it's very real. Every time you think "no way". It "yes way".

Our military is so large, so advanced, so powerful and our culture is so influential and so crazy that it's the Chinese and everyone else who can't afford to have something happen. It would take the entire world attacking every American everywhere at the same time for us to lose.

And that's never going to happen. We will just shift production from China to Mexico or Latin America. Really not that hard.

After WWII, the USA became the world's undisputed #1 economic powerhouse. To leverage this advantage, they made the entire world their market - cheap imports, lucrative export targets. Those powers had huge trade, armies and cultural influence, greater than America's today.

America will win and survive this war but will gradually fall our way as well from the cultural, economic and political cost of it, especially if there is a 2nd one 20 years later.

other nations are catching up to america, to the point they'd be just as rich and militarily powerful as the us in a few decades, since that is what the current model assumes, if things keep going as they go and there is no drastic change
and well trump is that drastic change, i am not judging value but it makes perfect sense that he was elected

the alternative was democrat inaction and that would have ended US hegemony as well except slower
here they are actually trying to keep it going, if trump successfully reasserts the USA as the leading world power then things will keep going as usual
