Linguists think that the word "truth" is probably related to "tree" because trees are steady and stable.
>>72113594
It seems so
>Tree is from Middle English trewe, from Old English trīewe, (Mercian) trēowe (“trusty, faithful”), from Proto-Germanic *triwwiz (compare Saterland Frisian trjou (“honest”), Dutch getrouw and trouw, German treu, Swedish trygg (“safe, secure’”), from pre-Germanic *drewh2yos, from Proto-Indo-European *drewh2- (“steady, firm”) (compare Irish dearbh (“sure”), Old Prussian druwis (“faith”), Ancient Greek δροόν (droón, “firm”)), extension of *dóru (“tree”). More at tree.
>>72113594
Could make sense considering to importance of trees and the forest in Germanic cultures.
For example the German word for "faithful" is "treu", obviously very similar to English "tree" or Danish "træ" ("wood").
>>72113422
