I don't speak nahuatl or any other native language, those languages are not really practical and the vastly majority of people who speaks them usually can't write them. Mayan seems to be the most complete among them all but at the end is more like a touristic attraction and a tool for anthropologists, and there are way too many words that can't be translated into. Yeah, nowadays universities are teaching them to whoever wants it, but the purpose of learning them is becoming more and more particular because the life style have changed and some traditions are simply gone.

We have to start leaving behind the identity of being "proudly aztec/mixtec/mayan" or any other native ethnic group, yeah our heritage is from there but we're not natives anymore.

I am a descendant of Guachichil natives (obviously mixed with maybe another tribes, spanish and french) but not all the mexicans are Guachichiles, there are like 65 recognized languages as official, how many would we learn and wich one would we choose, why and how practical would it be?

I'm not spic or CHI or anything like that, but in my case I'd say there's no point in learning the "local" aboriginal language (in my case, Mohawk) seeing as even the aboriginals themselves don't learn it. For this reason, it's probably better to invest all of the time, energy and ressources into the few languages which have a chance at survival, rather than trying to invest in every single abo language.
