My mom was born in the Puntland region but after her father died she moved south to Mogadishu.
My Father and Grandfather were ranch owners.
During the civil war they fled south to Kenya in '92 and arrived in the US in 1993.
The transition was pretty hard but after living in the US for 20+ years they know enough English to have a chat.

Even if you do have a good reason, your employer or government can't make you risk your life, as even humanitarian aid workers are not safe in the city."
