First off Africa is a Continent not a Country.

Ive been to Burkina Faso, Namibia. Nigeria, South Africa, and Seychelles

People there are super friendly.

there are probably two ways Africa as a whole couldve been fine, either Europe shouldve never colonized Africa or they shouldve colonized it and kept it under the white man's control because when they left, they left in shambles.

it's too easy to say "they're dumb". fact is the preconditions just aren't very good. someone might think a country's all set because someone built railroads and stuff but you need people who can run a country, you need a middle class, white collar, blue collar, etc, you cannot really create this out of thin air. in many cases they colonizing countries were mainly interested in extracting resources and thus had limited investment. administration was done by imported people, thus the only training for the indigenous population was often the military, which leads to the warlords later on etc. there's also the resource curse, although that is debated to some extent. essentially these countries are fake, with fake history and fake institutions and fake populations and they are supposed to function under the rules of modern liberal democracy and compete in the world economy. and it doesn't help that they are being thrown under the bus by liberal do gooders who do shit like sending them food and clothes or the eu dumping all their leftover foodstuffs there thus destroying local industries in their seminal state.
