But my question is, do these foods provide enough calories to soldiers? They apparently don't in my opinion. You know soldiers run around the field with dozens of kilograms of backpacks on their back.

Also, portable rations, most of the time, are designed to last for a prolonged amount of time. They're better being stored until emergency situations arise than to eat it casually.
