We're pretty much nothing desu.

We're not great at sports, we prefer to spend tons of money on expensive TV deals to watch English "football" while our own league and national team crumbles. We're good at winter sports, but can't even cheat properly like Russia (used to do) and China at the olympics.

Our economy is a facade at this point. I live in Stavanger, oil capital, and the finacial crisis is real. A lot of people are unemployed due to the oil market going to shit and since a huge part of our GDB relies on oil and natural gas, we're pretty much fucked since we keep on spending like there's no tomorrow.

As a people we're pretty awful. Most of us are depressed loners compared to other European nations. I was recently in America too and I was surprised at how open and friendly strangers are to eachother. To combat this we drink a lot of alcohol apparently. Norwegian drinking culture is on par with Russia to be honest. It's safer in Los Angeles downtown alone at night than in Oslo on a Saturday evening because everyone is drunk and violent.

And on a personal note: I'm a nurse and our county/municipality health care system is abysmal. Why is it practically obligatory for the public health sector to be underfunded?

Although compared to other germanic peoples I have probably gotten along with norwegians the best and some of the better people I've met have been norwegian.
