Everyone does different things I suppose
I was raised so that during lent you don't eat meat on Fridays (however, fish is okay).
And on Good Friday, you don't eat any animal or animal byproducts (such as butter).
And throughout lent you give up something that you enjoy. So this lent I've given up tea, coffee and the like.
I'm normally a massive tea drinker, I have boxes upon boxes of it

Yes, we also don't eat any animal or animal byproducts in Good Friday (but since few years, Poles, especially young adults, become liberal in that). In every Sunday we have in churches devotion called "Gorzkie Zale"(vid related) which has roots in Polish catholic tradition and is about suffering of Jesus Christ. It enjoys quiet good popularity.


BTW In my family we're painting eggs in Good Saturday.

We have multiple Croatian churches here where mass is given only in Croatian, however less and less youth come to church, so in 30 years, once all the old people die, we're probably going to have to close the church

Poles
