Either way using the US as a comparison is stupid because it has been the a melting pot for most of its life, not a homogenous nation like Sweden.

I live in Malmö, the city with the biggest slice of the immigrant pie.

There are problems for sure, since most immigrants leave most belongings behind they come here poor, so the real issue is a big influx of poor people, which also lead to more criminality of course.

Media blows everything out of proportion as they always do. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, I love Malmö.

The biggest issue is that Swedish culture frowns upon taking place, being loud and the famous picture of swedish teenagers standing three meters from each other waiting for the bus is very true.
This is not at all the case for anyone from the middle-east, so they tend to break all the unwritten rules before they learn, widening the gap in our society.

The real issue is this gap, while many succesfully blend in society, some are left behind with this gap, going their own way, and it's these people causing issues. They will never stop being poor and will often make shitty decisions and they can frankly go fuck themselves.

It's a pretty shitty situation, but not anywhere close the what the memes claim.

Even though we're few in numbers, I feel as though we should try to help real people getting their lives completely destroyed by asshole sand-monkeys with fucked up agendas, waging wars and causing misery in the middle-east, and if that means taking on more immigrants, so be it.

Malmö, murder capital of Sweden, has a murder rate of 3.4 per 100,000 population. Murder capital of the US is St Louis with a rate of 52 per 100,000. General murder rate of the US is 3.9 with Sweden's at 1.9 which is still in line with the rest of western Europe.

Sweden has been the target for all kinds of blatant exaggerations or outright lies for many decades at this point.

These are all parts of different pre-conceived media narratives surrounding Sweden, and reporters will constantly spin whatever stories they can find to more neatly fit into those narratives when they find that reality itself doesn't quite align with the image in their heads. The only one that actually seems close to the truth is probably the amount of influence Sweden carries in the US pop music industry.

The point is here is that the immigration-caused problems are slowly but surely making us more and more like the US.

If the scale goes from 1-10 in terms of shittiness, with the US being let's say 5, then Sweden is now a 2-3 when we used to be perhaps a 0,5 or 1.

And it's only just recently, as in the last weeks, after policeman Peter Springare put up an epic rant on Facebook that got a lot of spread but also the references made to Sweden by The Donald that media have actually started discussing the problem without immediately falling back to "RAYCIIIIIIIIIIST" propaganda. They still are to some extent, being the hyper-leftists that Swedish journalists generally are, but atleast some actual sensible discussion is taking place too.

It was absolutely fucking amazing the day when an SD politician during a questioning session in parliament brought up all these problems in quite a harsh way and the government minister actually kind of looked ashamed and then lamely listed some steps they had taken to contain and lessen the problem.

Just 6 months ago that would have been met with "YOU ARE A RACIST LIAR" and nothing more.

Something has changed these last few weeks.
