Very hit or miss, my GF is french and her family/friends are super nice, I've also met some great people in the smaller towns/countryside. A lot of french are absolute assholes though, especially parisians.

It varies. When I was in university, many would talk over during lectures. Group projects, I would have to carry a lot of the work because they would half-ass the tasks and would insist that they do not understand English well or would be absent a lot of the time. So I ended up having to take charge of a [large] group of six people because I did not want to get a bad mark. They were on an exchange so I don't think they really gave a shit if they did badly.

On some occasions they would be convinced that their method is the universally adopted standard and expect me to be able to read their minds exactly without questioning their reasoning, or they would drag me from my own tasks to play along with their little dramas when they fuck something up.

Besides from these experiences. I have no problems with the French.
