What would eventually happen if these states became more and more secular? Would their identities cease to exist? Would the wall eventually fall? Or would they still hate each other due to political reasons?
no two states is better option
I want more thoughts tho.
Israel already is very secular.
A lot of Palestinians are too but they are in the hands of jihadists sponsored by Islamic states who wanted to create this mess in the first place and who's only goal is the destruction of Israel which is often the only common ground among all these different Muslim sects and tribes who also want to destroy each other.
Israel wanted to create two states right off the bat but the powers in the region did not want a non-Islamic-pro-western state as a neighbor.
So they declared war and many of the "Palestinians" who were just west Jordanians fled their homes for camps to wait for their Muslim brothers destroy Israel.
They lost, and the refugee camps became staging grounds for an endless guerilla war with Israel, filled with foreign combatants itching to get back in and fight in the streets.
This has gone on for all these decades. Moderate/average Joe Blow Palestinians who just want to live and have a decent life are pawns in an endless battle between the jihadists who control them and Israel who can't just tear down the walls and sing kumbaya like your average retarded leftist idealist western college kid believes.
There never was a Palestinian state, the current areas created by Israel are the first Palestinian controlled lands ever.
There have always been Jews living there too, it wasn't just inhabited by Arabs/Muslims.
It's just a mess and the religious aspect is just a part of it, but it's a bigger part on the Muslim side because Islam is also very political.
The Israeli Palestinian conflict isn't religious

The conflict was never a religious one.
