Promoting literacy, sending first man to space, even culturally I think it was in some ways better than Russia is.
But most importantly USSR taught people what they shouldn't do by example, i.e. communism.

The problem with socialism is that people are selfish. They won't work in a communes or collectives. There will always be that little "me me me" nagging in the back's of their heads. In a collective everyone is held back by the laziests, as the laziest get as much as the most hard working. So why should the hard workers work so hard if there is no point? Socialism is stagnation.

I myself am actually more cooperative and selfless than most people and that's why I have noticed why socialism is so deeply flawed. I have seen how so many people only act for their self interest or to otherwise rub their ego. The problem is that people on average aren't some sorts of exemplars of virtue. You shouldn't make a society on some fairytale ideas, rather on the cold hard fact. While people can cooperate, most of the time people do it simply because it's in their own self interest. If you take that self interest away, then you will lose a big part of cooperation.

That's why Fascism is superior to socialism, as it's an organized attempt to get people working together for their own selfimprovement while they also improve their own society and it isn't a free for all like capitalism where the richest can consolidate their wealth and power forever.
