yes, but not in Buenos Aires, which has a third of the population of the country. here football and tennis are the only two popular sports, and rugby among high class kids.
Basketball is a small town/city sport.
Small towns/Cities usually invest in sports centers so their citizens dont feel bored as fuck due to being in a small city with little cultural life, and therefore end up playing stuff like Basketball or Handball, which is rare in big cities.
