Your views are common and understandable. However personnally I think the alt-right could be defined like this in a nutshell : people who (rightfully) want to fight globalism and the corrupt elites, but are very much believe i the virtues of capitalism and think nationalism is the right answer to globalism. And the actual FAR-right, because that's what it's always been called is taking advantage of these increasingly popular views to gain support, by using a more "moderate" approach, but the real agenda has barely changed. There is definitely a connection between the two. I'm not saying Trump is a facsist btw, however some of his supports are, and some people who try emulate him, like MLP in France, are also.

And seriously, politics through memes are fucking dangerous. I get it, mainstream media are detestable liars, so are people like the Clintons. Shia Laboeuf is an idiot, yeah. But well the cure might be worse than the illness, or just as bad. You're not fighting the establishment, you're validating another form of establishment, which will likely turn to be not that different from the other in the end.
