Literacy and numeracy rates were/are dropping, even the private schools were full of absolutely brain-dead pornography addicts. Alcoholism is a society constant and is introduced from a very young age. Teachers regularly took delight in mocking and bullying students in front of the whole class. It was always fucking hot and none of the air conditioners ever worked so we had 30 kids stuffed into a classroom on a 40 Celsius day.

Still, coulda been worse. At least it wasn't an American school. At least I had friends in school.

Not so bad. Middle School was a bit shitty, but everybody in high school got along and I enjoyed it.

Educationally was complete shit. I come from the poorest and least educated state in the country and got admitted in the top university of the country and struggled the first semesters. The classmates that got into the university without a test were just as bad as me though.
Otherwise HS was the bomb, like 10% of the dudes there smoked weed and half of them went out to drink, nightclubs and bars didn't asked ID so we were always there after classes. My crew and I all had cars so we made complete mayhem from time to time like racing between each other. Girls were as easy as it could get and everyone had this chill attitude that even the nerdiest prick was always along with his friends.

I lived in the countryside when I was young and elementary school and high school were lost in the middle of nowhere, literaly surounded by vineyard. I had good memories about that time, we used to be only kids doing kids shit, no Chad or sluts to bother us.
I guess the education part was correct for a public school because we had no distractions and were forced to study or to play cards.
But globally the public education in France is less and less good over the years. I won't be surprised if it was a will from the upper class to increase the gap between poor and rich in our country, and to ruele over an obedient population.

This was a big problem at my school. Teachers coddled the kids and never doled out consequences because they felt it was too mean. There was almost no discipline plan in place. Classes were shit unless you took AP. I feel like the school realized most of the kids wouldn't amount to anything so they didn't even bother. Not like I cared. Only thing that bothers me is teachers salaries. In NY teachers get obscene pay and benefits. Way more than other jobs of similar education and experience.

Pretty much this. Online gaming was a huge thing, especially Lineage 2, CS and WoW.
Also some our teachers were retarded. English teacher was an ex-punk band musician and she just showed us movies in English without actual teaching (so I have troubles with grammars). History teacher was a hysteric old woman who tossed her cups of coffee towards us, called us "bydlo" and "imbeciles", once she tossed one guy bag from a window. Labor teacher (we have lessons where they teach you how yo deal with lathe, milling machine and so) smoked in lessons and was often drunk. We didn't have IT lessons (they teach you how to use PC, internet, MS Office, and in good schools they even teach you Basic and Pascal) because our school IT teacher become pregnant and dropped out for 3 years and they didn't found the substitute. So I became engineer with 600$ salary instead of ITfag who may get more than 1000$ here.

I went to one of the best public schools in the state so all things considered it was pretty good. Actually learned shit in my science and math classes, read important books in English class, had competent instructors in foreign language class, learned how to play golf, learned the ins and outs of film photography, started lifting, and had a good social life.

8/10 but wouldn't do again because I like adulthood

High School was good. Most teachers really cared about what they were teaching so lessons were interesting; we would discuss politics quite often (the class was divided between right-wing ubermensh and leftist cucks). Also, luckily we still have a traditional school system: you go to class, sit down, listen, do tests, then go home for lunch.
Please note that this refers to schools in Northern Italy, the situations could be very different if you ask the terroni.

I teach several african students, along with many many muslim refugees from afghanistan, pakistan and iran.

The africans aren't the most academic but are mostly nice, especially considering their fucked up childhoods. The muslims are some of the most hardworking students in the school.

In general, people become worse the richer or poorer they are. Poor kids with shit home lives act out at school because they haven't been properly socialised and they have some amount of power and attention at school compared to home.

Rich kids can have shit home lives too, but can act out at school because of a sense of entitlement, and like poor kids can get the attention they crave at school.

Parents and home lives are the most important factor in creating people. If the parents are shitcunts, the overwhelming chance is the kid will be too, except when childhood trauma is involved, that throws everything into unknown territory.

I'm afraid someone's school life could be worse than mine. It was hard for me to stay sane when Classmates started enjoying an orgy during class. there were bunch of unruly scums appearing to desire sex, violence, blood and gore.
