Quick question about Japanese grammar.

I'm translating 武道伝承 and I often run into kanji without proper hiragana suffixes.

For example:

前返 instead of 前返し
横歩 instead of 横歩き

Is this just a stylistic thing? Do Japanese just automatically translate the kanji into that form.

I also see this a lot in 柔道 techniques, like 引込返 which should be 引き込み返し, but the kana are just all cut off.

I understand this is called the 連用形 form, but how does it work for words like 立つ?立ち... it is tachi isn't it. た、ち、つ、て、と。。。

Japanese... sometimes I honestly don't know...

If I see 前返, 横歩, and 引込返 without context, I probably read them like ゼンペン, オウホ, イン?へん etc.
I think these are just making verbs looking like or treating like nouns, like 'run' becomes 'running'.
立 normally becomes タチ, as in 爪先立(ち).

Ya, these are all 武道語. I don't think anyone who hasn't received 口伝, would even be able to read what is being said.

For example:
Mae Ukemi - 前受身 - Forward break fall
Zenpo Ukemi Ryote Hizamazuki - 前方受両手身跪 - Forward break fall from kneeling with two hands
Zenpo Ukemi Katate Hizamazuki - 前方受身片手跪 - Forward break fall from kneeling with one hand

On a side note, what is squatting in Japanese?

I found 蹲る, but I also found an alternative form of 踞る. 躑む which has a different nuance.

受け身 is an usual word.

In the case of しゃがむ, only her sole of the foot touch on the ground.
In the case of うずくまる, even if he lies down, his stand is うずくまる.
蹲る and 踞る are same.
In the first place, I think that those kanji are unknown for many Japanese also because they are too difficult.

I mean idk how it is in Brazil but most of my straight friends seem to like nice, earnest men that take good care of their appearance and seem responsible. I need to say this part in English cause it's complicated but: where I live there are a lot of people who identify as stuff like "queer" and they're much more often really weird compared to people who are just simply gay/lesbian/bi/trans. Some of them are nice too but they kind of give other LGBT people a bad name I think.
