Its strange, I read books about serial killers from many different countries but I never was interested in the serial killers of my location.
The most interesting case I can think of without googling is the case of the dutch female serial killer, Maria swanenburg. She killed 27 people.

Its not you. All the motives a serial killer had when it was "vogue", whether fame, untreated psychiatric illness, less chance of getting caught etc... are decreased.
But that is not a good thing, it seems there is a deadlier kind of murderer: the mass shooter.

Killed 12 people around Southern Finland in 1849, described as first finnish serial killer.

Basically just niggered around and impulsively killed people who got on his way. Was sentenced to death, but this was turned by tsar into 40 lashes and life in prison.

He later died chained to a wall in viaborg

the other complains of bad taste and doesn't want to finish, so the killer has her go on her back on the floor to listen to music

then the killer puts her trousers on the victim's face with some excuse

then the killer starts stabbing the victim

the victim tries to flee but the killer is on her, stabby stabby

victim dies and the killer hides the knife and cleans herself

calls her pops and pretends like it was some intruder who did it

Not necessarily a serial killer but a fucking wacky case nonetheless. Guy was partying with a group of friends and drinking homemade wine and the as the night progressed they started to do really fucked up things to the one guy. They tied him up with duct tape, cut him and did other sadistic things to her, did satanic rituals and at the end of this sect they cut her up in to little pieces and scattered her body accross the city dumbsters. He's free now btw.

This guy was a very famous (national news for a long time) serial killer/rapist in the end 90's, raped 11 young woman in a short period and the police organised a manhunt to get him. After he got jailed, he began receiving hundreds of love letters from several woman here and abroad.

i don't know if this is common knowledge outside of the uk, but the story of fred and rose west genuinely terrifies me

essentially a serial rapist, murderer and child abuser fell in love with a girl who was even worse than him, and they turned thier house into a torture dungeon where they raped, tortured and murdered young girls and women (including their own kids) for 20 years. officially they killed 12 but there are a ton of unanswered cases they are linked to and fred boasted that they had only seen "the tip of the iceberg" before his suicide in custody.
