I know how Australia feels. I live in Los Angeles. It's mild now, but summers can be unbearable. Air conditioning is a must.

My dad has to get cancerous growths removed from his face by a doctor occasionally. I'm worried how the excessive sun exposure will cause me to age.

Also, why is Perth so mild? I expected Perth to be just as hot as the rest of the coast line.

Imagine how hot it gets in the summer.

When you reach those temperatures you literally can do nothing, and you either slow down or you collapse. Imagine working in a farm with this heat and sun, this is why in southern Spain they got the siesta (now is more a thing of the past though), you sleep during mid-day (13-16) when the sun and the heat is more extreme and then you work out until late afternoon-night. In Southern Spain temps of 40ºC are pretty much the norm in summer. In Arabic and Middle-Eastern countries doing night life is/was basically the norm, and it was even more common before Western standards were implemented there, by necessity in a globalized world. No wonder these countries always had moon symbology, when the night comes it's like a saving goddess from the inclemence of the sun.

>Piles of dead turtle hatchlings are lining Queensland's famous Mon Repos beach amid a heatwave which has pushed the sand's temperature to a record 75 degrees Celsius.
>While the majority of hatchlings break free from their nests at night when the sand is cooler, those escaping in the day face overheating.
>"They can't sweat, they can't pant, so they've got no mechanism for cooling," Department of Environment and Heritage Protection chief scientist Dr Col Limpus said."If they encounter very hot sand they just simply heat up.
