Politicians trying to appeal to the Trump is Hitler crowd. Ireland is a few years behind a lot of other countries politically, so we're still in the stage where you can shut down a debate by calling someone a rasict or nazi. It can also be used to distract from actual problems in this country.

Each woman slew a dozen Anglo soldiers at least, all riled into madness by the scent of Aryan blood, but the incompetence of Catholic fanatic and incandescent pedophile Padraig Pearse, and the tiny amount of armed boggers he brought to the fight, cost them the victory.

We should have done what Norway did when they wanted to exploit their oil reserves but lacked the resources to do so: Give generous fixed length exploitation contracts to multinationals do extract the oil on the condition that they train locals in the skills required to do the work themselves once the contracts are up. Once the contracts are complete, you don't renew them and buy the infrastructure off the multinationals (or buy your own if they refuse).

third world countries can manage
>>
>>70946500
Yes, there's corrupt deals keeping third world countries managing though. The whole deal with the offshore gas in Ireland was also because of a corrupt deal done with the former energy minister Ray Burke where he gave away the rights for the field for nothing, when the rights used to be 50% of the field belonged to the state which is similar to what they have in places like Norway. The tax paid on profit in the fields was then reduced in 1992 by Bertie Ahern, we got fucked over with the fields here.

It's from politicalcompass.com. According to thier site Hitler was where the BNP are on this plot. The graph can get fucked up though as they put social issues and authoritatian/libertarian on the same axis. Labour since Blair moved further economically right to appeal to conservative voters to get power.
>>70947655
SDLP is probably due to the issue of having social issues on the same axis as the authoritarian/libertarian axis. They might have ignored Sinn Fein too as they don't take seats in Westminster, possibly all of the parties in the North as they're fairly irrelevant in the parliament there. Here's the compass for the 2011 election in Ireland, they never did a 2016 one, it has Sinn Fein further economically left and further down on the authoritarian axis, it might be because they concentrate more on social issues and being a left wing economic party here.

those have been the only big issues socially or on an authoritarian/libertarian axis recently, on that alone SDLP and SF should be swapped on that chart

Not much you can do when you're out except get on good terms with the neighbours, though that won't do much good if it's sneaky thieves.

There's a trick I learned from the Fallout games where you can string up cans that will rattle if they're moved and place them in front of windows or doors that open inwards. That'll make enough noise hopefully to wake you up if you're asleep. Just hope you don't have a drafty house.

Never mentioned "a hard hit to the head". We never did that. If we had time and the animal wasn't in a huge amount of pain/wasn't aggressive we'd drug it

If it was in a bad way or was actively trying to harm us we used a shot gun

She wanted to get food and started talking a load of shite about her friends and life in general and I just sat there nodding along while I texted a girl I met on Tinder.

Finally got the tickets, went to leave and she was like "It was great seeing you" Yep. "Can we hug?" Nope.

feminism is a literal curse. It will completely destroy the west by the end of this century if there isn't some sort of serious backlash.
The thing is the feminists professors, lecturers, speakers etc were all the young impressionable sluts 15 years ago
They blame every problem on our patriarchal society while not realising that the reason they're so unhappy is because of their lifestyle of jumping from one cock to the next until they were 30 odd and now and can't get a bf. But they're convinced themselves that they haven't done anything wrong and this is the message they spread to the young, impressionable women of today.
Its like a cycle:
young impressionable idot --> sluts around and never settles down or "focuses on career" --> unhappy during 30s --> believes her shitty feminist ideas because it absolves her of all blame for her shitty life choices --> preaches them to younger girls

As I'm walking off with my mate some lanky cunt comes out screaming at me about "hitting girls" (Literally never have) he comes at me and I just hit him a thump to the jaw.

Good on you.

White knights must be purged.

9 times out of ten the girl'll be lying to them about whatever problem she supposedly has and the other ten percent she'll have brought it on herself. Usually in those cases the guy is 2spooky for the white knight to go after; they just "police" the well-mannered/"beta" segment of the population, not the real (male) troublemakers, or anyone who looks tougher than them.

And if this cunt is lying about you hitting her, you should cut all ties immediately and get some alibis/character witnesses on your side ASAP.

tbf Nords have the same penalty (and IIRC in Morrowind had lower Int than Redguards) and they're literally Fantasy Nordics.

It's basically a matter of both Nords and Redguards being martial, disunified societies lacking magical and strong bureaucratic/literary traditions.

Well Nords used to sort of be fascinated by magic, or at least as it was practiced by Nord priests and animal-shamans, but they always had a sort of wariness toward it. But Redguards were always like "fuck magic and anyone who practices it. Fuck it/them right in the ass."

Some of the greatest Irishmen were Protestants. Sarsfield, Wolfe tone, etc. Without them we would never be here as a national entity. I have Protestant neighbours and they are as Irish as any other. They work hard and practice their faith and drink in the pub like any common Irishman.

>Some of the greatest Irishmen were Protestants.
Because any true Irishman who grew too tall got cut down or driven out to France, and those who got access to education or the wealth to write and publish happened to be rich Protestants.

>hurr all the prominent people were Anglo-Protestants
The English will say it's cos we're niggers, but people seem to think that if they say that Anglo-Protestants are "Irish", they'll be striking a blow against the insidious Anglo. Absolute folly.
We're an atheist English-speaking country soaked through now, we are fucking done as a "national entity".

>Without them we would never be here as a national entity.
Absolute bullshit.
If it weren't for Catholicism we'd all have become "good Englishmen". The language of everywhere but the Gaeltacht is proof of this.

Besides, all this talk is assuming "Irishness" equals good, but something you Protestant apologists don't take into account is that Protestantism equals bad in historical as well as theological contexts, a separate discussion which needn't even be brought into this discussion, seeing how only the most deracinated dupe could think Protestantism has any genuine compatibility with "Irishness".

Thinking Protestants are Irish is barely a step above thinking the Celts disappeared a thousand years ago. It's belief in the same result, after all.

That's a genuine good question to ask.

I think the only thing that can be done is to promote more Catholic fanaticism, and Gaeltacht Gaeliboo-ism.
The last time a Gaelic Catholic army could be raised to overthrow the English-heretic hegemony was four centuries ago, it's not going to happen today.
And both Catholicism and Gaeilge are weak and out of fashion today, absolutely misunderstood with underrecognised levels of hatred bubbling beneath the surface of the mainstream currents of society.

All that can be done I suppose is to point out the truth of the deracination that paved the way for the de-Catholicisation of "Irishness".
It's bitter mockery of the empty husk that is modern-day "Irishness". People are absolutely adrift in every sense of what it means to be a society and a nation, but they'll craw-thump in solidarity with the modern-day barbarians about the struggles of a people whose death and desecration their modern behaviour and attitudes tacitly ratify.

TLDR: Point out the meaninglessness of an Irishness stripped of historical context beyond that the 19th-century Protestants gave it, and the meaninglessness of the globalised Anglo-Franco-American lives modern "Irish" culture consists of.

Are there any parts of the Catholic doctrine and dogma, or it's fundamental beliefs that you disagree with?

Do you believe that our current Pope Francis is God's messenger on earth and do you recognise his message in regards to calling for Europe and Ireland to help refugees and not condemning homosexuality etc.?

I mean I look at my local parish priest, the man has said at the altar he doesn't know if god exists, I mean there's a whole generation of Irish priests who solely joined for the social position or because of family pressures. Are there sort of people good in your eyes? I mean they devoted their lives to serve God, but was it for the wrong reasons? I don't know any young priests personally but I'd certainly give them a lot more respect as they obviously have a calling. Joining the priesthood and devoting my life to helping others and spreading the word of God is something I've considered, maybe in my 30's, however most young people are so secular and anti catholic it's astounding. Why become a priest to a church 10% full or walk down the streets only to be spit on? I see modern society in Ireland as radically becoming anti catholic if the current trend continues, not full on anti catholic, but sheer apathy towards practicing people.
>>
>>70971124
What would you define as "true" irish culture? Obviously in your eyes it cannot be defined via the previous revolutions that occurred in Ireland? But without this action where would we be? I agree with your views on religion. The Irish are beginning to forget their religion.
>>
>>70971395
>Are there any parts of the Catholic doctrine and dogma, or it's fundamental beliefs that you disagree with?
Nothing I've found that permanently appalls me. I came from the two main other positions to open to accepting Catholicism, mostly for historical-philosophical reasons rather than any great faith in the specificity of the doctrines beyond belief in "big sky man who will fucking HEEM you", as the atheists boil it down to. That and Pascal's wager, and the odds on seeing

Obviously the organisational/sociopolitical aspect of it is definitely fucked up, and as a good a test of whether it's true or not as can be thought of will be the next few decades, whether it can survive atheism, apathy and Islam, at least in Europe.
In my analysis they'd need to radicalise the rules and streamline the structure and procedures to change trajectory, barring great external turnaround, but it's not exactly my place to suggest radical changes in practical policy.

A trend recently has been of widowers becoming priests, because that's basically one of the only avenues for men to get married and be able to go into the priesthood. It also gives them something to do in retirement, I suppose.

>>70971458
>without this action where would we be?
I'm not outright rejecting the actions so much as the historiography of the actions. Wolfe Tone allows them to rewrite history so that Englishness and Protestantism have a place in the concept of "Irishness". They don't. Anglos and Protestants who have helped Ireland have either been "useful idiots" (in a not entirely pejorative sense) or trying to co-opt "Irishness".
>>
>>70971652
Do you, a bit like myself, attribute many of Ireland and Europe's problems to the lack of religion, Catholicism specifically. Or is social media, mass media and technology more to blame for the current trend we're seeing of less people getting married, unhappier people, more promiscuity etc.

I mean to me it seems like for Irish women, who largely have stuck to a single partner for the past 2000 years suddenly they've been sexually "liberated" and have on average 20 partners, it just doesn't seem natural. It'll be interesting to see the results of it. Not to mention the hypocrisy in condemning Catholicism but then gladly advocating the importation of thousands of Islamic fundamentalists. Do you think the attitude will change if there's ever a major Islamic terrorist attack here? Or will the stubborn media always push their leftist multicultural rhethoric? I'd swear that these media organisations are getting funds from (((other influences))) like George Soros to push this narrative, but maybe that's too of an exaggeration.

It'll be interesting to see the Eight referendum, I think it'll draw out a lot more rural Irish Catholic voters in their 50's and overs out to vote more so than the Gay marriage. Plus if Pope Francis arrives on the scene before the referendum to advocate against it it'll be delightful to see leftist tears.

I'm often conflicted with it comes to historically. I see documents like the Laudabilitier, advocating the conquest of Ireland, the excommunication of the Irish leaders during the war of independence and the church's general apathy towards us during the reformation and our years spend under the thumb of protestant England. Sure the rank and file prists and laiety were by and large ardent supporters, for example during the 1798 in Wexford but by and large would it be fair to say that the Catholic Church, at least the powers that be in Rome were largely apathetic towards our struggle and offered little in terms of substantial help?

It's the same thing, but perhaps if religion had existed solidly these technologies would have been restrained before the descent began.

>It'll be interesting to see the Eight referendum, [...] Plus if Pope Francis arrives on the scene before the referendum to advocate against it it'll be delightful to see leftist tears.
The abortion referendum will be the life or death of our country, no exaggeration. Though divorce (and Good Friday arguably) were probably the killing blow.

>but by and large would it be fair to say that the Catholic Church, at least the powers that be in Rome were largely apathetic towards our struggle and offered little in terms of substantial help?
Possibly, but the RCC was never a direct force for Catholic conquest/reconquest outside the sphere of influence of the papal states. Then after the French Revolution and the settlement of Vienna, sectarianism generally died down as the cultural conflict turned broadly across Europe into a conflict between "Christianity" broadly defined and liberalism, and the general idea of "enlightenment" or at least living in "enlightened times" led to a less violently-oriented Catholicism, particularly when active suppression was increasingly likely to come from the secularists than the Protestants. Let's not forget that during the period when the English finally stopped actively persecuting Catholicism the church built up the education system in this country, whereas the Protestants deliberately held back Gaels and Catholics from learning and literacy to weaken and delegitimise both Gaelicness and Catholicism.
>>
>>70971902
>>70972068
As regards military conquest, as I said, if one looks at the military history of the papacy reconquering formerly Catholic areas, wanting areas to be restored to Catholicism wasn't the equivalent of waving a magic wand, lack of will wasn't really the deciding factor.

The Protestants, who normally tout the overwhelming superiority of the Royal Navy, and list off medieval to early modern battles that they won against us, somehow fail to acknowledge any of that when they ask why Catholics in Europe didn't accomplish the defeat of English Protestantism in this country.
As was referenced earlier, it's "whig history" in that it asks why the thing-that-did-not-happen did not happen, as if it's the malice or stupidity of people in the past who did not support the version of events that panned out, (the one they support); and it's a tactic used to paint those who think history "should" have gone differently as similarly moronic or malicious. It's a psyops mindgame is what it is.

Anyway, goodnight.

>whereas the Protestants deliberately held back Gaels and Catholics from learning and literacy to weaken and delegitimise both Gaelicness and Catholicism.

Really? The only thing that springs to mind in this regard is Catholics not being allowed entry into decent schools and Trinity. It seems that after the famine and post maybe 1870 Ireland boomed in some regards, people's wages, quality of life improved. The Irish got a voice in parliament and catholics could leave the hedge schools for somewhat of an education. From my knowledge of my history of Ireland I don't remember reading anything about this period (Which I presume is what you're referring to) which claimed that Protestants actively tried to suppress education of Catholics.

>never a Catholic conquest/reconquest
If I remember correctly some Gaelic lords from the Flight of the Earls went seeking help from Rome but nothing happened. Not to mention Daniel O'Connell died on his trip to Rome, again seeking RCC help for the Irish.

>Though Divorce
I don't see the problem with Divorce, it's simply a byproduct of the times we live in and without it I believe there'd be a lot more broken homes. Divorce isn't ideal, but it's something when relationships break down and there's children involved.
>>
>>70972358
I wasn't talking about the period of the 19th century. I was talking about the period when the Brits still gave a shit about (their perverted form of) Christianity, they used it as a pretext to destroy the national centres of learning in Ireland, as well as robbing the Gaelic writers of patronage through their material impoverishment of Gaelic society. By the 19th century the Brits were either liberal or more afraid of liberalism than of Catholicism, so they allowed the Catholics back in properly(-ish).

>If I remember correctly some Gaelic lords from the Flight of the Earls went seeking help from Rome but nothing happened. Not to mention Daniel O'Connell died on his trip to Rome, again seeking RCC help for the Irish.
I've addressed this already as a general concept. Help was given at times, but it was not enough. The Nine Years War was only a proper fight to the extent that it was because of outside support of O'Neill. That war was lost, so the expectation that the great Catholic powers drop everything and re-start a war they'd just finished for the sake of trying to secure the strategically weak position of Ireland is questionable.

And in the mid-1800s, it would have been impossible for any continental country to effectively aid Ireland by opening total war with the preeminent naval/hegemonic power in the world.
Even when the only country that came close to challenging England tried to help, it barely worked at all.

>I don't see the problem with Divorce, it's simply a byproduct of the times we live in and without it I believe there'd be a lot more broken homes. Divorce isn't ideal, but it's something when relationships break down and there's children involved.
That's a foolish, "current year!" opinion.
It's also contradictory, because divorce is the legitimisation of broken homes.
>>
>>70972581
I don't think you understand what Divorce in this country is. To the best of my knowledge legal separation existed before the Divorce referendum. In this country you have to be living apart for three years to be divorced which allows you to marry again. I mean legal seperation can deal with with the various property and related disputes.

What do you suggest should be done then when a Mother in the family decides to go sleeping around, commits adultery and the father tells her to leave the house and he wants divorce/seperation? That's reality, sure it legitimises it but what's the alternative? Marriage till death do you part? I don't think that's realistic. I don't think it's a current year opinion I just think it's the only realistic option.

The French and Wolfe Tone (which you seem to disregard solely based on his religious affiliation) nearly landed in 1798 with a large amount of French troops which could have effectively seized the island. Total war against the naval power wouldn't have been realistic of course but the Germans nearly got 20,000 rifles in 1916, the will to fight was there the supplies from external sources were never there though.
