USA and Canada are pracically the same country aside from geography and crown allegiance. I always found the "rivalry" contrived. It's mostly British shit-stirring. Canadians group into the same subregions of the country that Americans do. Saskatewan and Manitoba are basically the Dakotas and Nebraska, Alberta is basically like Colorado, BC is basically your Washington, Ontario is basically a part of the Great Lakes midwest, and Maritimes are very similar to New England. The only oddball is Quebec for historical reasons. Quebec's closest American cousin is Lousiana.

I hardly remember learning (in school) anything substantial about the french revolution) and then it's basically important moments in history, the last century, and stuff like the difference between the decolonization of India and the decolonization of Algeria...

Liberation of east and the treaties, libereation of the south and of course the defeat of Greeks and their expulsion from Anatolia once and for all. The Treaty of Laussanne. After the peace talks and the contents, the early problems Turkey faced, reforms Ataturk had passed, first attempts at industrilization, Ataturk's foreign policy, Ataturk's principles, the abolishment of the Sultanate and the end of the Empire. The abolishment of the Caliphate and secularization, reforms and more reforms.

And then very briefly WWII and that's it.
