I see alot of finns say they are not culturally close to the other nordic countries. But to be honest when I'm in Finland it feel more like being closer to home then Germany and parts of Denmark except for language. The way people behave, their mannerism, the athmosphere. houses and infrastructure, the way society is constructed is are all more similar. The air even smells the same and the water taste the same. Have you tasted danish tap water? It feel like licking a chalk.

Norwegian is made up ethnicity. Most of southern Norway and the Oslo bay were as danish as the danes in early middle ages. Remember it was easier/faster to cross the sea then to travel on land. When the Fairhairs unsurped the power from the danish kings and subjugated the more northern petty kingdoms, the kingdom become Norge after where they are from (southwestern Norway). It was reinvented as a nationality in the 1700s because of the utter mismangement from Copenhagen.
