Republic or Monarchy, which system is better?

Monarchy clearly

Republic grants you happiness for lower class, you can have a smaller army because theres no real need to have garrisons in every single town you take
I honestly prefer republic over monarchy in ETW

We never used that republic flag. During United Provinces time it was the same flag as we have now except blue was lighter, like Luxembourg now.

But while we were a republic, we kicked out the Spanish, we had our golden age empire, we had fun wars with UK, France, Portugal, and were at some point the richest country in the world.

When we turned monarchy, we got invaded by the French, the Germans and have generally been babbys.

Monarch as uniting figure with limited power, authoritarian regime led by a powerful prime minister/leader and a generally meritocratic society under it. An entire people united under God, King and Leader, working together towards a renewed greatness.
