my mother is chinese and she is pretty positive about almost all asians with the exception of one, who according to some members of their own aren't asian anyway, their incessant threads about their aboriginal half ancestors are proof of this

How does that work out for you?

Slightly weird. I would feel more at home while traveling in countries like Peru, Bolivia, or Ecuador than in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, or Brunei, since the people, food, and architecture is more similar to the mentioned South American countries than our closest ASEAN neighbors. Though in the end, our culture is still too different from everyone (too Latino to be Asian, and too Asian to be Latino).
