the deseases that crept up with the spanish horses destroyed them utterly before euros ever met them.

In my country of barely 21,000 sqkm, 7 languages belonging to 4 different language families (Uto-Nahua, Maya, Lenca, and Misumalpan) and 1 language isolate (Xinca) were spoken.
All of this variety was lost forever. Only 200 speakers of Nawat remain now.
