I would say so-so, I don't use it very frequently. Like the teacher I had was native and said that at least I didn't sound very bad, however she said I will never be like native level in speech due to swedish phonology interferes with the finnish.
>>
>>69944840
It does, finnish is so differently spoken it's exclusively hard for germanic speakers. Like there's this brit sports announcer who came here like 20 years ago and he still doesn't sound like anything close to a native.
>>
Spanish (Native speaker)
English (Lingua franca)

Hey, man, quick question. I read that in your country, primary school is in Luxembourgish, middle school in Deutsch, and high school onwards in French. That sounds autistic af, man. Is it true?
>>

k english, russian, Polish and belarusian
>>
>>69945731

Do they teach it in school? Are there any schools that actually teach the subjects in Belarusian? Like in rural areas?
>>
french and english fluently
bit of dutch

not significant
>>
>>69945681
it's technically true ,we use luxembourgish/french to talk to our teacher and german/french terms in tests however even in high school the theacher still talks to us in luxembourgish when he gives us an explanation.
some people have problems with that but seen as the 3 languages are your native tongues which you use everyday you get used to the terms fairly quickly , i must admit that it helps, i know all the biological terms in all 3 languages now

It's taught at schools everywhere but only about 0,05% of the population speak it I think, I learnt it myself mainly. There are some schools that teach everything in belarusian, mainly in the capital
>>
>>69945929
I thought it was like 10 percent. Lot better than Gaelic in Ireland.
>>
french, dutch, english

>>69945929
how can one country be so cucked that only 0.05% of its population speaks that one countr'ys language?

English and German fluently and I'm learning French.

Slovak people generally suck when it comes to languages.

French, English, Spanish, German because I have some German family on my father side and a bit of Italian and a bit of Portuguese a gf from Porto tried to teach me but I'm proficient at only the first three.
I studied Hebrew at uni because I was forced to take lessons unrelated to my field of studies but I gave up after a semester. I still feel bad about it btw. It would be cool to be able to read an uncommon language.

let you tell me about my country
what people say in the polls doesn't mean shit. for example some say their home language is belarusian but they spoke russian since they were born and for their whole lives
>>
I'm really trying to learn french but man it is so demotivating when I hear spoken French and I don't understand anything

I get so frustrated with that and with not being able to translate sentences. So many times I read a sentence in French and I understand every word individually but the whole sentence can take on a different meaning and I never get the exact translation, it pisses me the fuck off. I hate how english seems so fucking simple to be compared to other languages, each word means exactly what it means and there's no bullshit like in French

I'm just upset that I don't speak French well I guess..
>>
>>69945981
I guess we and Ireland are about on same levels in these terms
>>
>>69946518
Practice takes perfect. I get it can be frustrating if you feel like you're not making progress or gaining anything (I feel that right now), but it takes time. That said, don't overwork yourself and try to do a lot in little time, it won't get you to fluency any quicker and you're just going to burn yourself out of the language entirely. What program(s) do you currently use? How long have you been at this?
>>
>>69946518
if you are interacting with the language at all you are making progress my man
