Just Look at That Flag

Today, I realized new meaning on this beautiful symbol. Deeper meaning then what is preconceived.

Look at how the flag is layed out.

50 white stars layed across a blue canvas in the upper left corner, anchored by the top of the mast. Contained by 7 Red stripes and 6 White stripes surrounding the other two sides.

Now.

Everyone knows Blue is generally perceived as left-wing, or the 'democrats', as the red is right-wing or the 'republicans'.

Now the 50 white stars represent the 50 states of the Union.

Look at how the stars are supported on the canvas by the blue, showing the independence of the states (white stars) are supported by the democratic rights of them (blue background). Unifying them under the common ideology of democracy.

Now look at the red and white stripes. Look at how they align underneath and Beside the blue. Almost containing the stars into the corner, or rather- securing it within itself.

The pattern of red and white stripes shows something greater, Shows the presence of independence (white stripes), but only because it is balanced with the Right Wing- showing that without the presence of either color the democracy would be engulfed. The existence of our Republic, protects the existence and freedoms of the Independent Democracy.

Think about how a flag flutters among the winds, Generally, the left side of the flag is tightly attached to a mast, with the rest of the flag flowing freely with the wills of the wind.

Now think about that, the wind- almost like the fury of the world, relentlessly battles with the flag, a fight of strength for superiority. But who is it that is doing the fighting?

The red and white stripes are thrown around the hardest, much like the parties themselves, always battling and fighting for what the flag, IN ITS ENTIRETY, represents. The independents and republicans (red & white) are doing all the work in keeping this flag intact.

Now look back at the blot of democracy, supporting the states. It is anchored atop, attached tightly to the mast supporting the entire flag itself.

The stars are safe being protected by the mass of the red and white, not having to battle the forces of nature, the stripes shielding it from the harms of the the world.

But with this, The democracy also becomes proud. The democracy has been shielded for so long be the republic, that the democracy forgot what it is like to face the plights and dangers of the world alone, it became comfortable within itself- ignorant to the ways of the world.

The open air above the blue spread of stars is free to see the world, contained and protected from harm by the stripes.

This shows the freedoms given to the states that is granted by the presence of the stripes.

Now, the most intriguing part…

Look at the mast. The mast is strong, its tall, its built to withstand the forces existent to the world.

But who built this mast?

The people.

The people got together and constructed an anchor so strong, so that the flag, our nation, that it could climb into the world of possibilities above us. So that our nation could exist and flourish in the world, and gives the states within the freedom to exist FREELY.

Our country was built on this idea. The idea that, together we can grow and succeed in this life and provide opportunity for generations to come.

But whats happening now?

The flag is tearing, the stripes have been battered for decades, and it is beginning to divide the stripes that were once working in unison, now the red and white stripes are fighting the wills of the world independently.

Once the flag is torn, it is quick to deteriorate from the reckless forces of nature.

What is tradition when a Flag is torn?

You replace it.

The people must bring down this very flag. TO RESSURECT another flag. Not a different flag. Just a refreshing NEW flag to properly showcase what this very nation represents. The people must work together to raise that flag. So that the freedoms of democracy may truly be present in the land of the Republic.

I dunno if you mentioned it, but something I'm always annoyed by is this often repeated notion that the essence of democracy is opposing views colliding. That a society in which everyone has the same beliefs is broken as a democracy.

I really don't fucking understand this. Unity is good. Diversity of opinions and beliefs isn't good in and of itself. The desirable outcome of any square of ideas is for the ineffective, incorrect, deficient or otherwise negative ideas to be supplanted and replaced by correct, efficient and good ideas. Thus societal unity is gained. Why do people look at the disorganized mess of idiotic and brilliant ideas being treated as if they're equally valid, and think that it is a good thing?
