The place is horrible though and you should flee at your first available opportunity if you're living there

There are good things for tourists though like the British Museum which is probably the best museum in the entire world (Mesopotamian and Egyptian sculptures, the Rosetta Stone, the Elgin Marbles, etc etc). Plus the many other museums and art galleries - too many to name
