there's not much of an east-west divide. it's more of a mainland vs islands divide (and a south vs north one but that's mostly memes), a Balkan vs Aegean/Med one basically

I don't even really disagree, I just don't think a few islands peninsulas on the Atlantic ocean make much of a difference. They're what, 10% of the population? 70% of Canada is American-lite.

It gets annoying when you have an actual culture, with unique language, food, accents, history, architecture, etc, created over the course of 400 years by Ftench and Anglos, and then have to listen to some jumped up Ukranian or Ametuxan or random other nationality, act exactly like an yanks and drag the entire country down while mumbling some nonsense about muh shekels and muh economic relevance

Never even seen a trailer park except in the US or on TV. Confederation was a fucking mistake, and your idea of Canada isn't much older than you. Read some of the literature being pushed by CBC radio for the sesquicentennial; this idea of a lasting and unified Canada was invented by politicians and advertisers in the 1960s and 1970s. Prior to that no Canadians saw themselves as a particular entity (no, not even after Vimy or D-Day which), and the idea of Canada was as thin and frail as an autumn maple leaf.
