Canadian shitposting is a meme thanks to /pol/.

Canadians have become master trolls. It's actually becoming easier to troll anons than fucking normalfags and SJWs now.

A lot of things. Australians first started shitposting about Canada for no reason in particular in late 2014/early 2015 (which also marked the beginning of golden lel bantz). Threads started off from "why does this country exist and why haven't we nuked it yet?" to obscure articles. It eventually kept progressing until half the board was Australian-made threads against Canadians.

Note that was around the time that Australians were often regarded as epic shitposters who BTFO'd moot and FWG, so they were the 'cool' guys of /int/.

the /int/ hivemind quickly bandwagoned Australia, but the Australians needed one more thing to finally make their meme go nuclear. One day a Canadian made a thread praising our old ensign, and subsequently calling the current flag nothing but "a fucking leaf".

A fucking leaf. The perfect meme. The strayans spammed this non-stop with every variation of Golden Lel until the meme was successfully forced. Every Canadian were forced to leave the board or shitpost back, bringing forth the reputation of 'Canadians can't even banter as good as australia, lol. SO UNFUNNY!'. This was because The Aussies were a god of bantz in /int/'s eyes. No country could rival them. So there's no point in attempting to bantz back.

Fast forward a year later /pol/ found out about the leaf meme and couldn't stop using it for themselves. This probably drove away most Canadian posters from flag boards leaving behind the shitposters, which further reinforces the shitposting meme.

TL;DR: Canadian 'shitposting' is the result of a bad feedback loop kickstarted by Australians. They tried doing the same to India but they were hit so hard they got bantered off the board.

Oh btw, Australians who were behind the leaf meme, and poo in loo meme also caused this board to become wildly popular in mid 2015 onwards, so you can blame them for the extreme surge in generals and extreme decline in quality of the board.

We have regularly targeted countries to shitpost about for years, usually started by 1 or more guys who make threads often. Such as "only post ITT if your health minister is below 120kg NOT SO FAT BELGIUM" or "really small foamy beer" or "poo in loo". The leaf one stuck so much because canadians cried and really couldn't seem to handle the banter. So just like high school bullying, the reaction to it gave it a life of its own and others jumped on board.
