Im an indfag and I had an indian english teacher way back in 1990 & I lived a small town hours away from my states capital city. Never really seen or heard about people being able to teach english in india as a job like they do in japan/china/korea/thailand/etc

probably a volunteer thing, they stick you in a village in UP and you teach impoverished women in some humanitarian school

enough indians speak english that they fill almost all of their teacher postings. sometimes foreigners can edge out a few spots for themselves but its not a popular destination for TEFL. its harder to get in, the pay isn't as much as other countries, and foreigners in general are scared of india
