So is it Ukraine or The Ukraine
It is nothing.

wow rude

"Na Ukrainie" czy "W Ukrainie"?
>>69347008
W NA Ukraine
>>69346376

Daily reminder to kill yourself, galician scum.

w ukrain
w rossji
w polshe
"na" is just russian form of autism
they adding "na" for islands and for unknown reason to us - na ukraine.
>>69346376
The No Such Thing
>>69347758
We use Na when reffering to some regions like
na Mazowszu, na Podlasiu, Na Kaukazie etc
but never countries with 1 exception of Ukraine.
>>69347758
It sounds more pleasant this way, like there is a village called Kamenka, "пoeдeм нa Кaмeнкy" sounds better than "пoeдeм в Кaмeнкy"
>>69346376
Might as well get used to calling it Russia.
>>69346376
Russia
also no one has called it "the" ukraine since like 1986
>>69347758
>>69347972
njet
we also use na when referring to certain countries such as Hungary, Croatia, Sweden and the Netherlands, all of which end in the possessive suffix -ska in Slovene.
>>69347972
Wrong.
We use it for two real countries - Slovakia (na Słowacji) and Hungary (na Węgrzech).
Also islands and archipelagos, and some island countries like Philippines (na Filipinach).
Also non-countries - Belarus (na Białorusi), Lithuaniana (na Litwie) and Latvia (na Łotwie).
Also geographical regions, waste lands and shitholes like the ukraine (na ukrainie).

that's horrible. only squatting russians in tracksuits say that.
Little Russia
>>69348722
ah youre right we also use Na for Hungary, and 50/50 Croatia, Romania and possibly some others.
W Ukrainie doesnt sound wrong though
>>69346376
Ukraine comes from slavic root 'кpaй' which means side. U krai ina means on the side (of Russia). Even in Russian you dont say in Ukraine, you say 'on' Ukraine, unlike for any other country where you'd say in. So technically the Ukraine is correct.
>>69348794
>lemme tell you about your country
It's okay to talk like that everywhere, no matter where are you, in Petersburg or some rural village
>>69348863
No, Ukraina originally meant borderland of the Kingdom of Poland
I've noticed eastern europeans also refer to Irish places with 'the' in front of the name too

>The Borderlands
That doesn't seem wrong at all.
>t. The Netherlands
>ukraine
no such country
>any thread relating to discussion of Ukraine
>overflowing with Polish butthurt
Is this just an /int/ gimmick or are Poles genuinely this butthurt?

>I'm gonna go to Ukraine
>I'm gonna go to the Ukraine
>I'm from Ukraine
>I'm from the Ukraine
Not too sure. I usually just say Ukraine without the "the"
