Most Europeans can't afford a house let alone a car. people usually live in crowded urban areas and take the public transport

can't say for other europeans but in my case they're fucking expensive and almost completely unnecessary for most

if i wanna go to a city i'd have to park so far outside it i'm better off just taking a bus in the first place

Cars are fucking obsolete for anything that isn't rural environments or emergency services, I really do think it would be more effective for society to move towards efficient mass transportation and velomobiles, with short range electric bridging the gap.
