Because I'm fairly certain surgeons perform hundreds of major surgeries a year. And when they have 10 reviews despite practicing for 20+ years it's more likely just extremely rare fringe cases or people who didn't follow the protocols.

if the surgery isn't successful, your eyes have the chance to be forever in pain, you'll wake up every morning and your eyelids will feel like sandpaper, you'll have to use drops every hour or so, usually this could happenif you visit some shitty clinic that's just out for money

which is why I recommend just asking your optometrist or doctor to direct you to a good clinic where they make sure that lasik/prk will be very beneficial to you

again, if you feel like your quality of life whether vision or a result of a lack of proper vision is bad, then surgery being successful would turn the world into HD for you basically, just find a good doc/clinic first
