However, my main focus is folk, songwritting, dungeon synth, black metal, 50's music and synthwave\retrowave as well.

I also love classical music.
When i'm with time and in the mood i listen to post-rock, shoegaze, noise and such.

I've only listened to stuff in the past that I liked, and that meant power metal/hard rock, a bit of thrash metal, and a spattering of old rap, along with a handful of "stirring" classical music and . Knew nothing about any genre except perhaps "softer" metal to have enough knowledge to hold my own in small talk about music though.

Drive-style "retrowave" appeals to me because of the catchiness and the self-aware "wink wink" but still heartfelt sentimentality/emotion common in it.
It won't scare the women off with loud proclamations of violent and "masculine" emotion like metal or rap would either. Being able to talk about music and seem interesting is a big part of it desu. I don't have many conversation starters and I'd like to change that.

I thought Nolan's Batmans were okay (only okay though - not [intentionally] funny enough, and not dark enough either), and the early Spidermans were okay as well, they felt more honest than modern formulaic movies.

But making more than a handful of them as children's movies is just awful.

They're like the perfect "omnivore" invasive species that's choking all the niche animals out of their food supply. The modern capeshit bites into all of these markets and floods them with the same Marvel/DC content:

The last one I liked was The Conjuring. It wasn't amazing but certainly better than most these days.

I think the focus on supernatural stuff has been going on for too long. People just aren't scared of ghosts and demons as much when nearly every film has them. Maybe more human-focused films could bring the genre back.
