when dakota territory was being admitted as a state a state capital couldn't be agreed upon because our population centers are all over the place, so they split us up into north and south

east of the missouri river is superior to west of the missouri river in all but nature and weather. west is what everyone thinks of though because it's god the black hills, the badlands, mount rushmore, and deadwood. we have nobler people though. also mount rushmore is garbage
