Turkmen: There are two type of Turkmens. Turkmenistan Turkmens and outer Turkmens.

**Turkmenistan Turkmens are mixed group of Oghuz and Persians who speak Oghuz Turkic. Turkmen words exactly same with Turk-ish. It doesn't mean complete Turk but closer to Turk.

**Outer Turkmens used to be a nomadic group who migrated from Central Asia to Anatolia, Persia, Caucasus, Levantine, Balkans etc. They're mostly part of Oghuz but there are also other tribes who joined them. Today they're moslty mixed with locals. There are also Iraqi Turkmens and Syrian Turkmens. the estimates says there are only 10-15 million people who were descented from Turkmen tribes in Turkey.

**Turkic: A nation which breed from Altai mountains to rest of Northern and later Central Asia. It used to be a racial code to call Central Asian rooted people but nowadays it's a lingual and cultural term.
