I grew up in a village of 1000 in rural northern Germany, where street lights are turned off at 11pm. Never had problems seeing the stars clearly at night, except for full moon days of course.
I missed being able to see the stars once I moved to a city for university 2bh

I'm from Mexico and have never seen this.
