Why do Germany have to have some stupid laws that makes every big game focusing on history use the flag to the left rather than the actual NSDAP flag?

red black gold were the traditional german colours for the most part, starting with the red beaked, black eagle on yellow/golden ground.

White and red however comes from the hansecities, which means the northern german and baltic trading power, also a wink to the prussian colours.

When central german influence was biggest we had the flag on the right, when the northies had most weigt we took the colours on the left.
Now that prussia is ded, we will probably never switch to blackwhitered again because northern influence has been permanently neutered.

It would very likely be legal actually, there is just no publisher who wants to be 'the publisher who started a lawsuit to include swastikas in their games' so things stay unclear.

Because video-games are considered child toys by German law. If they were considered art they could use swastikas.

Not sure about the reason for change but taught as a kid black-red-gold represented German coming from darkness (Black) through blood (Red) into the light (Yellow)
