Some years ago two Italian marines working as private guards killed some "Indian fisherman" aka pirates.
At that time we had a government installed by the eu so we handed them to India instead of telling India to fuck off since we were discussing some deal for hundreds of millions of euro. In the end India kept the marines and canceled the deal.
