Hey anons, I really like flags. I ordered like, 20 or so flags for Christmas as a gift to myself.
But, I want to ask anons, what do you think is the best or most beautiful national flag?
I'm an American, so obviously I love our flag, but I think the colors of the Estonian flag are superb.
What's your favorite flag? Why is it your favorite?

Our real flag. I like it because it represents our nation and our people
I actually like quite a few of the Caribbean flags. Antigua and Barbuda especially comes to mind.

What's the significance of that flag? How does it represent your people better than the current flag?
Don't know about favourite, but I can tell you my least favourite flags are Cyprus...

Explain anon? Also that flag looks better than current Porto flag.

and Kosovo

Hahaha I was just about to say, I bet you don't like the Kosovo flag either.
What do you dislike about them?
I don't really like the Cyprus flag, simply because I think the small blotch of orange on the white background looks a little odd, but I quite like the Kosovo flag. What's wrong with them?

Blue and white were always our country's colors but in 1911 we became a republic and changed our flag because our old one represented the monarchy. The blue is a reminder of the sea, one of the biggest elements in our history. Red and green just felt a little out of place

In theory putting the actual country on the flag works. In practice every country is a shapeless splot, even Italy. In Cyprus' case the motif has a little more symbolic significance, showing a version of the country without rebellious Turks and what-not. But the Kosovo flag just gives the impression that the all the country has to define itself is its border, no culture, language or history. And I kind of like the orange and green on white, at least more than blue white and yellow-brown.

I mean, yeah, that actually makes perfect sense. I was thinking in a purely aesthetic sense, but symbolically, you're totally right.
