Many ppl don't know this but until Russia conquered the Caucasus, circassian boys weren't usually raised by their parents but by other ppl to be trained in combat etc.. but I think it depends on the region. Megrelians/Laz, Circassians probably had a way bigger Greek influence because of the Black Sea.

Yea, same language family but our languages seperated a very long time ago, I think it was like 2000BC or something. Our vocabulary maybe matches 10-15%. Abkhaz sounds like gibberish to me.

You mean like the root sounds abkhaz or does it have an Abkhaz affix (-ba)? They have mixed so much, you couldn't tell anyway. There also seem to be a lot of people with the surname "Cherkezia" in Georgia, which is Mingrelian if I'm not mistaken.

well my surname includes -ba- but not sure if its affix. more likely its root of surname which is based on abkhazian word. there are lots of famous abkhazs with similar surname
